Grand Spectacles at the Marriott Grand Ballroom

Recently, a new events venue was officially unveiled at the Resorts World Manila complex, the Marriott Grand Ballroom of Marriott Hotel Manila. And looking at the figures, it does live up to its “grand” name; in fact, it already holds the record of being the largest ballroom in the Philippines.

The 3-level structure was designed by international hospitality firm Gettys Group with its interiors designed by notable Filipino interior designer Kenneth Cobonpue. With over 8000 square meters of function space, which includes the 3000 square meter main ballroom, it was designed to be not just a hotel events venue but a notable addition to the Philippine MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) scene as the country is being promoted as an ideal venue for international conventions and exhibitions.

The venue boasts of some intricately designed interiors, not to mention a notable presence of artwork of Filipino and international artists. It also boasts of new technologies designed to enhance the experience of the events being held there, from the modern lighting system to apps that make meetings at the Marriott Grand Ballroom more social, collaborative, and technologically-driven in this digital age.

Unlike other hotels which has their events venue integrated within the hotel itself, owing to its sheer area, the Marriott Grand Ballroom is a separate structure itself from the hotel, with a covered walkway connecting it to the hotel. There is also a service vehicle that will take you to and from the hotel (and the main Resorts World Manila complex) and the Grand Ballroom.

The Urban Roamer was fortunate to experience the grandeur of the Marriott Grand Ballroom at a recent event that was held there, a bridal fashion show called Marry Me at Marriott.

The fashion show featured stunning and modern bridal creations from some of the top fashion designers in the country: Randy Ortiz, Frederick Peralta, Rhett Eala, Jun Escario, Rajo Laurel, and JC Buendia, not to mention the presence of personalities like Alex Gonzaga, Angel Jacob, and Jessica Kienle among others as runway models for this fashion show.

From what I learned, this is an annual event that Marriott Hotel organizes. As with previous editions, this year’s event was a success. It also helped that it is one of the first events to be held in the new Marriott Grand Ballroom, which helped accentuate the prestige and glamour this event provides.

Congratulations to the organizers, designers, models, and everyone who participated in this year’s Marry Me at Marriott. Here’s looking forward to its next edition.
