Jollibee Gets A Jolly New Look

What is there to say about Jollibee? It is pretty much a very well-known, beloved, and an omnipresent institution in the country that many people have talked about over the years. Jollibee has grown into a formidable force that even a global behemoth like McDonald’s could not conquer (And I just happened to have watched The Founder recently). Having occupied the topmost position in the country’s fastfood restaurant business for many years now, it would have been easy for Jollibee to be content in its position and become dull and stagnant, which would have jeopardized its long-held position.

Thus, it is a pleasant surprise to see Jollibee make some bold steps forward and reinvent itself is some way. This is apparent when the Urban Roamer checked out the newly renovated Jollibee branch in Glorietta 4, which is considered to be a flagship branch of this fastfood chain.

The new Jollibee Glorietta 4 was unveiled when the branch reopened in January 16, after months of renovation work, which closed off the branch to the public temporarily during the latter half of 2016. The end result was a Jollibee many of us have never seen before. It has that fun, funky atmosphere, and there is a bit of class as well. Not that the old look did not have a fun vibe at all, but that look was getting stale, especially when you’ve seen far too many Jollibee branches in your life.

The new Jollibee Glorietta 4 branch sports 2 LED displays throughout the store, less use of bright white lights and a generous use of that type of lighting you see in some upscale restaurants, from the color of the lights to the chandelier and interior lighting designs used.  Come to think of it, this Jollibee store has the vibe of an intimate restaurant, albeit with lots of people, especially kids in the premises.

In case you’re wondering…yes, that round table is actually a lazy susan table type

Being familiar with the layout of the old Jollibee Glorietta 4, it was a pleasant surprise to find out that the new store has more seating capacity now and somehow feels a bit more spacious than before. It does not feel congested despite the many people who would go here to eat.

From what I’ve heard, Jollibee Glorietta 4 is the first Jollibee store to undergo a huge makeover in this style. The Urban Roamer hopes this will be replicated in many other Jollibee stores not only in the metropolis but throughout the country as well. The public that has elevated Jollibee to its status today deserve to experience a great dining atmosphere its Glorietta 4 branch now provides.
