Last July 16-20, the SMX Convention Center near the SM Mall of Asia served as host for what is dubbed as “the biggest franchise event in Asia,” the annual Franchise Asia Philippines.
Franchise Asia Philippines aims to showcase a variety of franchising concepts and, in turn, business opportunities for people who are looking into building their successes in the realm of franchising.
The 2014 edition of this event was graced by some big, established names that are looking into expanding their reach. This year’s theme is “conquering an integrated ASEAN,” in anticipation of the establishment of an ASEAN common market by 2015 which would provide opportunities for Philippine businesses to not only strengthen their market here but also to expand to other markets in the ASEAN region as well.
As such, this was the occasion for established names to provide opportunities for prospective franchise partners, opening up to a wider market that can be tapped.
It was also the venue for some new players to make their presence known to a wider audience, hoping to get some potential clients who can their brands further.
And some of these new players have some unique concepts that would hopefully be noticed by prospective franchise owners.
Even for those who are not looking into buying some franchise like myself, the recent trade fair was a good opportunity to see how things are for Filipino enterprises, especially the small and medium scale ones who are looking into expanding their respective businesses through franchising.
We hope for the best ahead for these businesses and may they find success in the Philippine market.
