Cyberpreneur Philippines: Soon Off the Shelves

It started with a blog post I published here in The Urban Roamer early this year. Soon enough, it got quite a lot of attention that a book publisher contacted me to contribute for an upcoming publication based on my original blog post. After some back and forth with the publisher, I eventually agreed to take part in it.

The rest, they say, is history. And history was indeed made with the release of that aforementioned publication, a groundbreaking book called Cyberpreneur Philippines.

The publication of this book is quite a personal milestone for me. For one, I am now considered a published author, even if I wrote just a chapter there. Second and most importantly, it is a great honor and privilege to be part of groundbreaking work, one of the first books in the country, if not the first, that deals with the ins and outs, the whys and hows of making it in the online economy as a cyberpreneur or being an online business owner and/or freelancer that takes into account the Philippine setting and experiences of fellow Filipino cyberpreneurs.

As someone who values imparting knowledge to others, this book, I believe, is an invaluable resource for Filipinos to take part and make it in this new online global economy. And as my fellow contributors have shared, it is not an impossibility to make such an achievement.

Speaking of contributors, I feel honored and overwhelmed to be among people who are more knowledgeable than I am, recognized names in the Filipino online community who are sought after especially in the matters of online business and freelancing that I hope I get to learn from as well.

So if you are looking into getting into working online as a business owner or freelancer, I highly recommend that you get a copy of this book. If you think this book, with so much information within its 220+ pages is pricey, let me tell you that its cover price is only at P395.  That itself is a great bargain!

The book will be out on bookstores by November.

Related to this story, last Sunday, October 25, marked the book launch of Cyberpreneur Philippines which was held at Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. Despite the small space, it was a well-attended event graced by the book’s editors and contributors such as myself. It also served as an open forum where some of the attendees’ questions on cyberpreneurship were answered by some of us.

And yes, there was an informal book signing event where got to sign not only some copies of the books by the attendees, but also of my fellow contributors as well.

It was definitely a fun and informative event, not to mention it was nice to meet some of my fellow contributors as well.
