One time game show contestant, oft-time urban roamer. I have nothing much to say, I'm the quiet one...which is probably why I take photos too much.

Reform the system now! Reform the system now!
This year personally has been quite hard for me, l This year personally has been quite hard for me, losing loved ones and condoling with friends who lost theirs. This particular death has hit hard in a different way.

I first met Pierre back at PUP high school. At that time, I was chosen to be part of the high school's quiz team that will join Battle of the Brains. During the preparations, Pierre served as our team coach of sorts and helped us prepare for competition which unfortunately didn't materialize due to the program's cancellation.

Over the years, I've come to know him a bit more, especially in the wake of Millionaire and quiz nights. He was passionate about history and travel and I enjoyed conversations with him on those things and other topics as well, not to mention his wicked sense of humor. We ended up being together not only during quiz nights but also in events like a Carlos Celdran walking tour and availing a group discount offer at EDSA Shangri-La's HEAT buffet.

Since he moved to Bangkok, he has been asking/bugging me to go to Thailand and he would serve as my tour guide in exchange of Delimondo corned beef. Unfortunately l the opportunities thus far that presented themselves as travel options to me did not allow for Thailand as an option. Nevertheless, the last time I talked to Pierre in June, I did express my hope to go to Thailand soon.

Sadly, Pierre won't be there anymore to show me around when I go to Thailand nor will he get to enjoy the Delimondo corned beef I promised to give him. But thank you for the memories and the things you've shared to me. I will always cherish your friendship and I will dedicated my Thailand trip in your memory. Ok that last one is cringe, but I'm sure you won't mind that, hehe.

Tektite Tales: The Philippine Stock Exchange and the PSE Centre in Pasig

    November 7, 2015

Right at the heart of Ortigas Center, the Pasig side of Ortigas Center in particular, lies the nerve center of commercial activity in the country. Well to be specifc, it’s one of the centers actually, but we’ll get to that later. Today, the Urban Roamer checks out the Tektite Towers, also known formally as the Philippine Stock Exchange Centre, where the country’s national bourse, the Philippine Stock Exchange or PSE currently holds office.

The Story of Ayala Triangle: Center of a Rising Business District

    September 10, 2015

As the airport operations at Nielson Field have closed down by the 1950s, around the same time, plans were being made to convert the Zobel de Ayala-owned hacienda (where the airfield is located) into a modern business district, giving birth to the Makati Central Business District. As structures began to sprout left and right, the old airfield which became a triangular open space found itself in the middle of all this development. However, it took a while for any development to be seen in the area. Apart from the Nielson Tower, the rest of the triangular space was pretty much a barren open space which sometimes was used as a football…
