Six Years and Still Roaming…

Just like that, it has been already 6 years since I first started the Urban Roamer.

It’s no exaggeration to say I never expected to see what started out as a simple, inconsequential (as I thought then) venture would go this long and this far.

And now that the Urban Roamer is 6 years old and counting, my work on this little “venture” is now the longest job tenure I have ever held in my life. And that says something, I suppose.

Nevertheless, I still have a long way to go if I wish to make it more popular and have a wider built-in audience that other sites have. While I do not see nor do I wish to make the Urban Roamer one of the most popular sites in the country, setting up these goals would not hurt, especially on the revenue I’m trying to generate for the site. (which sad to say is still dismal admittedly)

But as always, I am thankful for the experiences and the adventures I’ve embarked on, especially for the past year which was Year 6, some of which I have yet to document here but will hopefully get around it soon.

I am also thankful for the people I’ve got to meet this past year: heritage advocates, some of which I admire deeply, fellow bloggers, partners, and new friends who have made my blogging life and career, as well as my personal life, more fulfilling and rewarding. Words may not fully express my appreciation, but still…thank you!

And to all who have been supporting the Urban Roamer over the past 6 years, longtime or otherwise, thank you very much for the love and support you have given for the site and for its advocacy for a livable metropolis. Please keep supporting the endeavors of this site, not to mention I hope to see new followers as well.

By the way, I must give a special shoutout to whoever have been sharing my 5-year old post on Punta, Sta. Ana in Manila, boosting site traffic these past few days. Thank you for still appreciating an old post mine, despite the crudeness of the way I wrote it, being a noob and all.

Looking ahead, Year 7 looks to be another promising year of new adventures and experiences to chronicle. The roaming continues.

Till then, happy 6th year to the Urban Roamer!

What better way to mark this occasion with an introduction to The Urban Roamer’s new profile logo as seen on The Urban Roamer’s Facebook page, which I encourage you to like if you haven’t done so yet.
