Christmas in the City 2014: the Christmas spectacle at Ayala Triangle

If you live in the urban landscape of Metropolitan Manila, especially if you frequent the Makati Central Business District area, you know that the Christmas season is in the air when you see the Ayala Triangle Park dressed up in those shining, dancing, multi-colored lights that have become a yearly Yuletide attraction.

The tradition lives on this year as the  Ayala Triangle Christmas lights and sound show formally opened last November 12 to delight spectators anew and remind everyone that Christmas is upon us once more and it is time to get excited/stressed yet again.

As with previous presentations, this year’s Christmas presentation at Ayala Triangle Gardens was conceptualized by the team of Voltaire de Jesus for the lights, Jazz Nicolas and Mikey Amistoso for the music. One thing to note though is that this year’s lights are brighter and more colorful compared to last year’s. Then again, it is understandable considering that the wake of calamities that struck the country last year made that Christmas show a bit more subdued.

The Christmas lights at the Ayala Triangle Park gardens will shimmering brightly every night from 6 PM to 10 PM up until January. If you wish to catch the lights and sound show, the presentations will be on every half-hour within the aforementioned timeframe. And did I mention you can enjoy the show for free? Then again, that’s a given already.

Do drop by at Ayala Triangle Park one of these nights this Christmas season and let the lights and sounds of Christmas there make your Yuletide season a joyful one.
