Our Coworking In The City series is back! And this time, we are going up to the northern part of the metropolis. This coworking space we will be checking out for this entry in the series is a unique one I have to say. Unlike many coworking spaces, (in the metropolis at least) this one is not located within or even near a business district but rather an educational district that is the one in the Loyola Heights-Diliman area in the eastern part of Quezon City. So today, let’s check out 47 East.
Located at 47 Esteban Abada Street (hence the name) in Loyola Heights, Quezon City, 47 East is close in proximity to the campus of Ateneo de Manila University, as well as the campuses of Miriam College and the University of the Philippines Diliman, and the bustling commercial activity going on along and nearby Katipunan Avenue. As such, many of the people who are using this facility are students who utilize the space as a conducive place for studies and projects to be done.
It is not difficult to see why. For one, being located not along Katipunan Avenue but somewhat within the residential enclave of Loyola Heights, the environment around 47 East is generally peaceful, with little of that busy commercial activity to be seen.
Stepping inside this 3-storey structure, the place feels like an oasis with its green and relaxing atmosphere that makes it a good place to focus on work. The coworking spaces themselves are wide and cozy. It’s as if you are working at home rather than an office. If there are any special classes or events to be attended by a few people, these coworking spaces can double as venues which by themselves can accommodate up to 30 people.
For larger events, 47 East has a function hall on the second floor which can accommodate up to 80 people. For more intimate brainstorming sessions or meetings, there is also a conference room and a gazebo as well.
The third floor of 47 East is technically a separate facility altogether called Solana Suites. It is actually a dormitory that caters to students, mainly those studying in the aforementioned Loyola Heights-Diliman area. As such, the units have a stylishly contemporary vibe that makes these units a good place for students to be their home away from home, so to speak. Each unit is also equipped with amenities designed to provide comfort to its tenants such as WiFi access, airconditioning, separate toilet and bath, and even a refrigerator!
If you are looking for a place to work in or near the northeeastern metropolis, 47 East is a place you should check not only because it is practically the only choice available in this part of the city, but also of an environment you will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else.
