It was such a busy weekend recently and it was not just because of the Valentine season. Two major events were happening that the Urban Roamer decided to check out in one day which was last February 15. So you can imagine how tiring it was, but it was worth it seeing so much and enjoying the sights along the way. Read on to check my full report.
PASINAYA 2015
Last year, Pasinaya was curiously held on March. But for this year, Pasinaya was back to being a February event as it should as February is the National Arts Month. As such, the various resident companies of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, as well as other artists and performing arts groups were at the various venues around the CCP to showcase their performances to a wider audience.
There were cultural presentations, little stage plays, musical programs, storytelling activities, and art exhibits being held simultaneously that visitors chose to attend to that day. As always, the public was eager to catch them.
Due to time constraints, the Urban Roamer wasn’t able to stick around as long but nevertheless, it was great to see so many performances that day that makes one feel a bit hopeful for the future of Philippine arts.
TRAVEL TOUR EXPO 2015
There was also the Travel Tour Expo being held that weekend as well organized by the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) at the SMX Convention Center. As someone who has been to past Travel Tour Expos, I could see this year’s edition was a bit bigger that it decided to be held not only in the ground floor halls but also the halls on the second level as well.
The trade fair featured some massive booths courtesy of the tourism organizations of different countries, airlines, and travel agencies among others, eager to showcase not only the sights to see in their countries but also the best travel deals that are available.
Of course, Philippine tourism would not be left behind in this event as the country’s tourism campaign this year is to “Visit Philippines 2015.” As such, local tourism offices, carriers, hotels, and travel agencies were at hand to provide some deals on various Philippine tourism destinations.
If you’ve missed this event, there are other travel expos to look forward to this year. I believe there will also be a Philippine Travel Tour Expo happening later in the year so if you’re considering exploring the country with what it has to offer, do watch out for it.
